Your game,
full attention
Group classes are great — but they move at the group's pace. A private lesson moves at yours.
Why privates work
One hour that actually moves your game.
It's the fastest way to fix what's actually holding you back: your weak spots, your bad habits, that one position you keep getting stuck in. More reps, more feedback, and every minute pointed at your game. All private lessons take place at Trust BJJ in Wenona, Illinois — and if you've never trained before, a private is one of the friendliest ways to start.

First time? You're in good hands.
Honest answers to nervous questions.
I've never trained jiu-jitsu before. Can I really book a private lesson?
Yes — honestly, a private is one of the friendliest ways to start. There's no class to keep up with and nobody watching. Missy in particular has built her whole coaching style around making people feel welcome from their very first roll — you can ask every question you've got, move at your own pace, and leave with a few things you actually understand.
Do I need to be in shape first?
No. You get in shape by training — not the other way around. A private lesson moves at whatever pace suits you, with more rest, more feedback, and zero pressure to perform. Your coach builds the hour around where you are today, not where you think you're supposed to be.
What should I wear or bring?
Comfortable athletic clothes you can move in and a water bottle. If you already own a gi, bring it. If you don't, don't let that stop you — just mention it when you book and we'll sort out what you need before you arrive.
Which coach should I book?
You truly can't go wrong. If you want patient, encouraging coaching with plenty of room for questions, start with Missy — she also offers women's-only sessions. If you're after takedowns, wrestling-based stand-up, or competition prep, Eric's your coach. Training with a friend? Two students share an hour for $175 — $87.50 each — and small groups of three or four train for $200/hour.
